Biography[edit]
Third lieutenant aboard the HMS Reliant at the time the Amitie was captured in early 1805. He spoke French, the only one of the ship's officers to do so fluently. Later served aboard the HMS Allegiance during the voyage to Africa in 1807, possibly as second lieutenant.
