Timeline
On p. 68 of Tongues of Serpents, it says that O'Dea was "taken up in the troubles in 'ninety-eight" and transported for life, but also that he'd been "fetched to the colony fifteen years before" the Blue Mountains expedition. As far as I can tell, the timeline has only been hammered out up through 1808-- should "fifteen" be taken as a typo for "ten", or are we missing some years of indeterminate travel time? --Wombat1138 17:01, 21 August 2010 (PDT)
- Wikipedia says the Lachlan Macquarie started as governor of New South Wales on 1 January 1810, I don't see any reason that wouldn't be correct in the Temeraire universe. So I think we can estimate the adventures of ToS takes about a year from Rankin arriving in Jan '09? Does that help? Or am I confusing you more? -- Strangerface 19:00, 21 August 2010 (PDT)
