I haven't managed to get round to writing this page yet, but of the three unfinished stories, the first one is probably an biographical tale of the life of the Yellow Emperor (we could summarise it for this page), the second one is the story of Kublai Khan's failed invasion of China (supposedly the god Raijin/Raiden, a god of storms, was responsible for this. Clearly in the Temeraire universe, this was done by a Sui Riu named Raiden), and the third is the story of Xiao Sheng; various versions of this exist on the net, but none I've seen have Xiao Sheng being a minister to the Emperor. Do we have any idea why this change was made (apart from the Emperor's treasury being a more likely place to find a valuable pearl. On the other hand, if Xiao Sheng did find a pearl belonging to a dragon, it is more likely that the dragon who owned it ate him, instead of him turning into a dragon. Perhaps the story got a bit garbled over the years)? Thoughts? Almaron 03:54, 10 September 2010 (PDT)
