Species Notes
The Sui Riu breed was once believed to be able to summon a thunderstorm. In reality, its ability is to swallow large amounts of water and store it. When necessary, the Sui Riu can then expel the water later in violent gusts. This ability is particularly useful against fire breather dragons.
Sir Edward Howe has examined and written about this breed.
The name in kanji is probably 水龍 or 水竜. Both are pronounced sui-ryuu and literally mean "water dragon". In the first compound, the second kanji is the same as the Chinese word lung/long for "dragon"; the second compound uses a Japanese simplified version of that character.
