Biography

Qian was the daughter of Lung Tien Xian. Her sons were Temeraire and Lung Tien Chuan. She resided in Peking, in the Ten Thousand Lotus Palace. She is described as a dignified lady with impeccable manners. As her scales were slighly translucent, she must have been a very old dragon.

According to Sun Kai the Emperor respected her opinion, which indicated her privileged position in the court. She was convinced that Celestials should not fight and was not pleased to learn that Temeraire had been serving in the British army.

She let Temeraire choose a sword for Laurence from her own things, because in China it is customary for the sire and the dame to give a present to the dragon's companion. This might be interpreted as a silent blessing, since it took place before Laurence had been adopted.

If she had a companion herself, they were never mentioned.
