Listed here are the stories that make up the Temeraire universe. This includes the novels, some individual short stories and "outtakes", and other material written by Naomi Novik for public distribution.

Novels

As of 2012, there are seven individual novels in the "Temeraire" series, as part of a planned nine.

Limited editions

Subterranean Press has individually reprinted the first three books as signed and limited (numbered/lettered) editions with special artwork; a similar edition of the fourth book is currently in production.

Omnibus editions

  • Temeraire: In the Service of the King - a compilation of the first three books published by SFBC in 2006, with a new cover but without added content.
  • In His Majesty's Service - A compilation of the first three books, with a new short story about Lung Tien Lien (described below).

Short stories

Several shorter pieces in Temeraire's world have also been published, including both standalone stories and "outtakes" from the novels. The list is ordered by internal chronology, rather than publishing order.

  • Vici - Vincitatus becomes the first dragon to be harnessed in the days of the Roman Republic; distant backstory to series. Included with The Dragon Book.
  • Feast or Famine - Temeraire and the other dragons learn to open their feeding pens; takes place between his Majesty's Dragon and Throne of Jade. Not published, but listed as an extra on the official website.

Non-Canon

  • The "Temeraire Drabbles" - Several short stories of questionable canonicity existing on the official website.
  • Miscellanea - A list of other non-canon material based on characters from the Temeraire series.
