HMS Normandy

Presumably a third rate ship of the line or a frigate.
William Laurence served on the Normandy as a second lieutenant under Captain Yarrow. During a voyage in the Atlantic, the ship ran onto a reef and left them wrecked on an island 700 miles from Rio. Laurence successfully effected a rescue, which he credited with his subsequent promotion to first lieutenant.
It is unknown if the Normandy was subsequently repaired or decommissioned.
