Biography

Berkley is a heavy-set fellow with a red face. He is not particularly proper, he speaks freely and rarely wears a coat. Despite this difference, William Laurence immediately teaks a liking to him. Berkly is a trustworthy fellow and has been given command of a particularly valuable Regal Copper, Maximus. The two of them have a brotherly-sort of relationship, in which they enjoy teasing and provoking one another.

He has a very loud, booming voice which is lucky, since he rarely has to use a speaking trumpet when aboard his dragon.

According to Berkly, he was assigned to Maximus's egg almost as soon as it was laid. He waited six years for it to hatch, which is why he is older than most of the new captains.
