Battle of Austerlitz

The Battle of Austerliz is also known as the Battle of the three Emperors, (French, Russia and Austria), took place obviously at Austerliz near Brno, (Moravia). It is known as one of the Napoleon's greatest victory, (a tactical masterpiece). With the victory in that battle Napoleon effectively destroied the Third Coalition against the French Empire. On December 2 1805 a French army under the command of the Empereur defeated a Russo-Austrian army, commanded by Tsar Alexander I, in nine of very difficult fighting hours. On December 26, 1805, Austria and France signed the Treaty of Pressburg, which took Austria out of the war, and the russian troops were allowed to head back to home with no honor. The victory also permitted the creation of the Confederation of the Rhine, a collection of German states intended as a buffer zone between France and the rest of Europe.
